Job summary

Radius Recycling, Inc. in Oregon is seeking a Maintenance Technician with 3-5 years journeyman experience to inspect, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment. The role requires reading blueprints, operating cranes and performing preventive maintenance.

You will work a 12-hour shift, including overtime, weekends and some holidays, in adverse conditions, while following safety programs and company policies. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years journeyman experience required.
• Experience in welding processes and oxy-fuel cutting.
• Experience in bearing installation, care and lubrication.
• Overhead crane maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to troubleshoot, rebuild and repair gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to align motors and gearboxes using straight edge and indicators.
• Ability to determine grades and sizes of bolts, pipes, tubing, cables and wires.
• Basic hydraulics and pneumatics understanding.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must carry tool belt weighing up to 20 pounds; lift 20–50 pounds; sometimes over 100 with assistance.
• Must work a 12-hour shift, including overtime, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and inspects equipment for defects.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions on various equipment.
• Performs preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance; documents activities.
• Uses hand tools, power tools and precision tools for repairs.
• Has knowledge of bearings, power transmission, lubrication, hydraulics/pneumatics, pumping, heat transfer, welding, rigging, cranes.
• Keeps equipment, work area and tools clean and in good condition.
• Works in adverse conditions using safe procedures.
• Participates in site safety programs and company policies.
• Performs time entry and updates work orders with actions.
• Communicates effectively; can work independently.
• Performs additional duties as needed.
