Job summary

West Fraser, a diversified North American wood products company, is seeking a Millwright to support the Allendale OSB Division by providing preventative and proactive maintenance to keep mill production running. This on-site role involves diagnosing malfunctions, repairing equipment, and practicing safety rules on a 12-hour rotating schedule.

The position requires reading blueprints, fabricating or replacing parts, and coordinating with a team to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience aligning motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps.
• Experience reading blueprints required.
• Three+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• Experience with fabrication, cutting with a torch, and welding with an arc welder.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Eligible to legally work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Willing to work a 12-hour rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work involves a complete range of duties involving maintenance using diagnostic tools and precision instruments.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of machinery.
• Start, observe, operate, or activate equipment to verify malfunction correction.
• Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment; tear down and replace parts as needed.
• Adjust mechanisms such as feed, speed, power input or output.
• Operate mechanical and electronic test equipment.
• Know pumps, conveyors, motors, and drives requirements.
• Keep current with equipment designs by attending classes.
