Job summary

Interfor in Thomaston, GA is hiring an Industrial Millwright to keep our sawmill operating safely and efficiently by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy industrial equipment. You’ll read drawings and blueprints, perform preventative maintenance, and fabricate parts as needed, including cutting and welding steel.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of millwright experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work in varying seasonal conditions.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of millwright level experience.
• Prior manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Cut, weld, and fabricate with different types of steel.
• Assess and repair machinery and hydraulic problems in a timely manner.
• Determine shaft sizes, measure up, and build shafts for replacement.
• Recognize and change sprockets, bearings, and chains etc.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring power is off and machine isolated.
• Submit work requests and complete work orders.

This role is ideal for a seasoned industrial maintenance professional with strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy industrial equipment. You'll bring the hands-on skills and technical knowledge needed to diagnose equipment issues, minimize downtime, and help keep our operation running reliably. Top Pay Incentives Pay Range: $29.21 - $40.74 per hour based on skill level and experience. $5000 Sign-On Bonus $1.25 per hour Night Shift Differential Quarterly Gainshare Bonus (performance based) What You’ll Do Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
