Job summary

Interfor is seeking an Industrial Millwright in Fayette, AL to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our sawmill operations. You will read drawings, cut and weld steel, fix hydraulic systems, and build components while prioritizing safety and reliability.

The role offers hourly pay from $30.57 to $41.33 plus a $1.85 night shift premium and a quarterly gainshare bonus, with comprehensive group benefits and opportunities for growth within a leading forest products company.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of millwright level experience.
• High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred.
• Prior manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Cut, weld, and perform fabrication work with different types of steel.
• Assess and repair machinery and hydraulic problems in a timely manner.
• Determine shaft sizes, measure up, and build shafts for replacement.
• Recognize and change sprockets, bearings, and chains etc.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring that the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested to ensure isolation.
• Submit work requests and complete work orders.

As an Industrial Millwright in Fayette, AL, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our sawmill operating safely and efficiently by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the equipment that powers our operation.

As part of our maintenance team, you’ll use your mechanical, hydraulic, welding, and fabrication skills to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support production. Pay Range: $30.57 – 41.33 per hour based on skill level and experience.$1.85 per hour Night Shift PremiumQuarterly Gainshare Bonus (performance based)

What You’ll Do

• Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
