Job summary

Interfor is hiring an Industrial Millwright in DeQuincy, LA to keep our sawmill operating safely and efficiently by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment. You’ll work with mechanical, hydraulic, welding, and fabrication skills to minimize downtime and support production.

We seek 2–4 years of millwright experience, a commitment to safety, and ability to work in varying climates. Benefits include medical plans, PTO, holidays, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret equipment drawings and blueprints for maintenance and repair work.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Cut, weld, and fabricate using various types of steel for shafting and replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and other industrial equipment.
• Adhere to lock-out policies and safety protocols at all times.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Cut, weld, and perform fabrication work with different types of steel.
• Assess and repair machinery and hydraulic problems in a timely manner.
• Determine shaft sizes, measure up, and build shafts for replacement.
• Recognize and change sprockets, bearings, and chains etc.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring that the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested to ensure isolation.
• Submit work requests and complete work orders.

Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions. High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred. Manufacturing, sawmill, lumber, or industrial maintenance experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to work around moving equipment and machinery. Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
