Job summary

Interfor is seeking an Industrial Millwright in Fayette, AL to keep our sawmill operating safely and efficiently by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment powering our production. You will read equipment drawings, perform preventive maintenance, cut and weld steel, and address hydraulic problems.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of millwright experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
• Commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Cut, weld, and fabricate with different types of steel.
• Repair machinery and hydraulic problems promptly.
• Determine shaft sizes, measure up, and build shafts for replacement.
• Change sprockets, bearings, and chains as needed.
• Follow lock-out procedures to ensure isolation.
• Submit work requests and complete work orders.
• Physical: walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

As an Industrial Millwright in Fayette, AL, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our sawmill operating safely and efficiently by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the equipment that powers our operation.

As part of our maintenance team, you’ll use your mechanical, hydraulic, welding, and fabrication skills to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support production. Pay Range: $30.57 – 41.33 per hour based on skill level and experience.
$1.85 per hour Night Shift Premium
Quarterly Gainshare Bonus (performance based)

What You’ll Do

• Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Cut, weld, and perform fabrication work with different types of steel.
• Assess and repairmachinery and hydraulic problems in a timely manner.
• Determine shaft sizes, measure up, and build shafts for replacement.
• Recognize and change sprockets, bearings, and chains etc.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring that the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested to ensure isolation.
• Submit work requests and complete work orders.
• Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

What You Offer
