Job summary

Interfor Corporation is seeking skilled, safety-minded individuals for the Industrial Millwright role in Preston. The position supports safe and efficient production by maintaining and improving equipment across the mill.

The starting hourly pay ranges from $28.36 to $39.55 based on skill level and experience. Responsibilities include reading drawings, cutting and fabricating steel parts, assessing repairs, and communicating with operators and planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of millwright level experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read equipment drawings/blueprints and interpret technical documents.
• Physical capability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Read blueprints and inspect equipment for repairs and replacements.
• Cut, weld, and fabricate components using steel materials as needed.
• Identify mechanical/hydraulic issues and implement timely solutions.
• Communicate with operators and planning team about equipment status and needs.
• Adhere to lock-out/tag-out procedures and complete work orders.

Job description

Interfor is seeking skilled, safety-minded, and motivated individuals to join our team as an Industrial Millwright in Preston. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving industrial equipment throughout the mill to support safe and efficient production operations. The starting pay range for this position is $28.36 per hour up to $39.55 per hour based on skill level and experience.

What You’ll Do

• Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Cut, weld, and perform fabrication work with different types of steel.
• Assess repairs and estimate time frames to complete.
• Repair machinery in a timely manner.
• Identify mechanical and hydraulic problems and assist in findings solutions and making necessary repairs.
• Identify shaft sizes, measure up, and build shafts for replacement.
• Identify and change sprockets, bearings, and chains etc.
• Communicate directly and professionally with operators about how equipment is running to learn about any problems.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with the Planning and Scheduling Departments.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring that the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested to ensure isolation.
• Submit work requests.
• Fill out completed work orders listing work done, parts used, and the time it took to complete the job.

What You Offer

• 5+ years of millwright level experience.
• Prior manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, climbing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
