Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. in Montgomery, IL is seeking an Electrical Estimator – Industrial & Medium Voltage to evaluate bid specs and drawings and develop competitive bids. You will work with subcontractors and PMs to manage budgets and support project awards.

Responsibilities include quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, vendor pricing, and bid tracking. Requires 3–5 years in estimating and a related degree, plus experience with Accubid and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• 3–5 years of related experience in estimating or electrical infrastructure
• Experience with negotiation and subcontractor engagement
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture with compliance to policies
• Review bid specs and drawings for projects from $500K to $10M
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
• Partner with Procurement to secure vendor pricing
• Identify and maintain relationships with subcontractors
• Develop project schedules and cost forecasts
• Track budget-to-actual comparisons throughout bids
• Follow up on bids, budgets, and award status with PM
• Turn over bid documents and subcontractor buyout info
• Review drawings with PM to highlight risks
• Maintain organized estimate files
• Perform other duties as assigned
