Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. seeks an Electrical Estimator – Industrial & Medium Voltage in Neenah, WI. This role bids heavy electrical infrastructure projects, collaborating with procurement and PM teams to deliver accurate estimates and competitive proposals.

You will review specifications, perform takeoffs, secure pricing, and manage subcontractor relations to ensure complete bid coverage and timely turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of estimating experience in electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with negotiation and subcontractor engagement.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with policies.
• Review bid specs and drawings for projects from $500K to $10M.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for MV systems.
• Partner with Procurement to secure vendor and supplier pricing.
• Identify and manage relationships with subcontractors for bid coverage.
• Develop project schedules and cost forecasts to support estimating.
• Track budget-to-actual comparisons throughout the bid lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Project Management to follow up on bids and awards.
• Turn over bid documents and subcontractor buyout information to PMs.
• Review drawings with PMs to highlight risks and constructability issues.
