Job Title: Mechanic - Packaging Line

Shifts Available: 2nd, 3rd, or Weekend Days

Position Overview

Packaging mechanics are responsible for maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of all packaging machinery and systems. A Packaging Mechanic must have working knowledge of the production process, items produced, and equipment used to maintain production within specific norms and standards. They will lead TPM methodologies on their lines and must be willing to use data to drive improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and continuously improve packing machinery and systems.
• Lead TPM initiatives and use data to drive improvement projects.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
• Perform troubleshooting using root cause analysis.
• Execute preventive maintenance and schedule material requisition.
• Organize and maintain technical documentation.
• Communicate status and handoff information to supervisors and coworkers.
• Train others and become a subject matter expert as required.
• Participate in line improvement teams and implement changes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years' experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, including military technical training.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical diagrams and basic electrical and motor controls.
• Knowledge of machine safety standards and equipment design best practices.
• Proven ability to perform root cause analysis to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Computer proficiency to operate manufacturing systems.
• Manual dexterity and ability to use tools.
• Read and comprehend written instructions and reports.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime.
• Prolonged standing, continuous movement, frequent bending and stooping.
