Overview

Allweather Wood Company (AWW) is seeking an experienced Millwright to join their maintenance team in Loveland, CO! This is a non-exempt position at an hourly rate of $32.65 plus benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and 401K match.

Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants across California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of preservative systems, fire retardants, and various wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to deliver preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products.

Responsibilities

1. Install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment.
2. Maintain and repair equipment and rolling stock including trucks, forklifts, and heavy machinery.
3. Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles: cleaning, inspecting, testing, checking fluids, changing oil, and tire maintenance.
4. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
5. Dismantle defective machines and install repaired or new parts.
6. Clean and lubricate machinery components.
7. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to join metal parts.
8. Set up and operate machine tools like lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines.
9. Follow all safety rules and policies strictly.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. At least three years of related experience and/or training.
3. Experience in wood handling or manufacturing is a plus.
4. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
5. Background in preventive maintenance.
6. Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents.
7. Basic math skills and ability to understand algebra and geometry.
8. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables.

Physical Requirements

1. Occasional sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
2. Regular use of hands for handling, feeling, reaching, and communication.
3. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and over 100 pounds rarely.
4. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
