Overview

Allweather Wood Company (AWW) is seeking an experienced Millwright to join their maintenance team in Loveland, CO! This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $32.65 plus benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and 401K match.

Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative-treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants across California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of various preservative systems, fire retardants, and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. Supported by two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to deliver preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment.
• Maintain and repair equipment and/or rolling stock including trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles: cleaning, inspecting, testing, operating, checking fluid levels, changing oil, and tire maintenance.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Dismantle defective machines and replace or repair parts.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment for metal work.
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines for repair or fabrication.
• Strictly adhere to all safety rules and policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Three years of related experience and/or training.
• Wood handling/manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles according to company policy.
• Background in preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, including fractions and decimals.
• Basic algebra and geometry understanding.
• Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions.
• Problem-solving skills involving multiple variables.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Regular use of hands for handling, feeling, reaching, and communication.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and over 100 pounds rarely.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
