Job summary

AMVAC CHEMICAL CORP is seeking a Mechanic for our Marsing, Idaho facility. The role installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs machinery used to blend and package chemical products, supporting reliable plant operations and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of industrial/mechanical experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain forklift, manlift, and boom lift certifications within 45 days.

Qualifications

• Five years of industrial and mechanical experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain forklift, manlift, and boom lift certification within 45 days of hire.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, P&IDs, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
• Experience with precision instruments including dial indicators, vernier calipers, and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair processing equipment, including mechanical components, electrical controls, AC motors, bearings, pumps, and VFDs.
• Inspect and test machinery to identify issues and prevent failures.
• Dismantle, repair, install, and reassemble pumps, gearboxes, valves, and related equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions in rotating equipment and perform lubrication and part replacements.
• Perform calibration checks on weigh scales, flow meters, and other instruments.
• Repair and adjust packaging equipment and printers.
• Monitor performance, minimize downtime, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with the Plant Manager and contractors.
