Job summary

UPS is hiring a Temporary Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to perform maintenance at a UPS package handling facility in Oakland, CA. The role requires a strong electrical background and the ability to pass an electrical assessment, with work on 1st-3rd shifts in a 24x7 operation.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, welding and preventive maintenance, and ensuring efficient facility operation.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
• Strong electrical background and must pass electrical assessment.
• Experience in maintenance, repair, and testing of conveyors and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment and sensors.
• Inspecting, repairing, and replacing mechanical components such as motors, chains, belts, pulleys, bearings.
• Inspecting, repairing pneumatic equipment such as hoses and diverters.
• Inspecting, repairing hydraulic equipment including hoses and pumps.
• Welding handrails, conveyor supports, and related structures.
• Performing preventive maintenance inspections on conveyors and power equipment.
