Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an Industrial Manufacturing Engineer to help implement new manufacturing processes at the plant level. You will work with operations to ensure world-class technology and processes, optimize tooling and welding, and support assembly, stamping, and production layouts.

The role involves hands-on project work, collaboration with multiple departments, and elimination of waste. Travel to other NASG plants in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico is required.

Qualifications

• Education may include technical trade schooling or higher.
• Five years stamping or related field experience.
• Five years Manufacturing Engineering or related experience.
• Proficient CAD software experience required.
• Strong understanding of APQP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with operations to ensure successful launches of new and takeover product.
• Develop process and production preparation plans for new manufacturing or assembly components.
• Create assembly instructions/visual aids to guide production team.
• Create and maintain work instructions, time studies, preventative maintenance instructions (IATF16949 compliant).
• Assist with automation and stamping processes troubleshooting; train operations staff.
• Supports manufacturing engineering, program management, and new product launch meetings.
• Assist with production preparation issues for countermeasures.
• Provide assistance with existing or develop new manufacturing equipment and installations.
• Assist maintenance activities on all manufacturing equipment and facilities.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs with NASG shared services.
• Participate in root cause analysis and 8-D problem solving.
• Work with production and quality assurance to ensure quality parts.
