Job summary

Tyson Foods in Caseyville is seeking a Maintenance Intern to learn and support installing, maintaining and repairing machinery and electrical systems at our Prepared Foods Plant. The role involves working on GMP/SQF compliant maintenance tasks across a state-of-the-art facility with 3-day weekends on alternating schedules.

Actively enrolled in a university/technical program in Mechanical, Automation, Refrigeration, or Industrial Maintenance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Follow GMP/SQF policies while performing job functions.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
• Replace or repair worn parts on equipment.
• Modify equipment to meet manufacturing needs.
• Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Perform limited masonry, plumbing and woodwork as needed.
• Repair, maintain and install electrical systems and fixtures.
• Install electrical conduit and measure/cut/bond components.
• Use hand and power tools for tasks.
• Install new water, steam, and air piping and run electrical to equipment.
• Maintain building and grounds and perform other duties.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMP/SQF policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot various equipment issues (electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic).
• Replace or repair worn parts on equipment.
• Modify equipment to meet changing manufacturing needs.
• Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Perform limited masonry, plumbing, and woodwork.
• Repair, maintain, and install electrical systems and fixtures.
• Install and manage electrical conduit work.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Add new piping runs for water/steam/air and power to equipment.
• Keep building and grounds in good condition.
