Job summary

Weil-McLain in Michigan City, Indiana is seeking motivated individuals to install, maintain and repair diverse machinery in a foundry setting. You will perform electric arc and acetylene welding, lay out and replace piping and fixtures, and mentor junior staff as needed.

This role emphasizes hands-on skills and safety in a dynamic industrial environment. Minimum requirements include a Journeyman card or equivalent, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Journeyman card or equivalent amount of experience/education.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in reading and writing.
• Willingness to work in non-climate controlled foundry environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Previous foundry experience a PLUS.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair machinery and related components and accessories.
• Perform required electric arc and acetylene welding operations.
• Test, inspect, lay out, maintain, and replace or install pipes, tubing, fittings and fixtures in plant maintenance and construction.
• Occasionally lay out and direct work of helpers and assist lower-scale maintenance techs.
• Other duties as assigned.
