Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of industrial equipment in Paarl, Western Cape. The role focuses on developing maintenance strategies, troubleshooting failures, and reducing downtime while collaborating with maintenance teams and operations to uphold high equipment standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering degree, 4+ years in industrial maintenance, and hands-on experience with pumps,

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• At least 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance engineering.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with CMMS software and RCA techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Manage spare parts inventory and equipment upgrades or replacements.
• Oversee maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring safe and efficient work.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all activities.
