Job summary

Mars in Burr Ridge, IL seeks a Maintenance Technician to maintain operating equipment, perform PMs, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues during setup and changeovers.

You will lead maintenance planning, drive downtime reduction, coach technicians and operators, and participate in loss-elimination planning and daily FMOS meetings. A technical degree or apprenticeship and hands-on experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance/Technology.
• Technical degree/trade certification or 2 years of manufacturing technician experience.
• Mars Apprenticeship or Co-op completed.
• Understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Troubleshoot ac/dc electrical components with basic test equipment.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic/mechanical drive systems at component level.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to develop welding, machinist and fabrication skills.
• Advanced electrical (up to 480V 3-phase), hydraulic/pneumatic schematics (preferred).
• PLC/instrumentation troubleshooting skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own PM systems for the Line, focusing on Maintenance Planning and Scheduling and Breakdown Elimination DMS’s.
• Drives results in Planned and Unplanned Downtime, and owns maintenance costs and PM compliance.
• Breakdown reduction and technical expert on related equipment, coach technicians and operators.
• Owns Anomaly Handling DMS and makes data-driven decisions.
• Participates in Line 90-Day loss-elimination plans and FMOS meetings; provides performance data.
