Job summary

Progress Rail Services Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Kansas City, MO to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical systems, and minimize downtime on production equipment. The role requires 1-2 years of industrial maintenance experience and a valid Industrial Maintenance license where applicable.

The candidate will follow LOTO and SDS guidelines, read diagrams and schematics, and operate forklifts and cranes as part of a safety‑driven, hands-on maintenance team.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent.
• Certified/Licensed Industrial Maintenance Mechanic preferred.
• Knowledge of LOTO and SDS required for safety compliance.
• Ability to read diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance per program to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Repair emergency and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and related equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and document maintenance work.
