Job summary

Pregis LLC in Elgin, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, read schematics, and support production reliability in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of maintenance experience, PLC certification, and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. This role offers a 12-hour rotating schedule with night shifts and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

PLC certification is required.
Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring devices.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance on production equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Support utility systems and production support equipment.
Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Perform equipment repairs to minimize downtime.
Document maintenance activities in the CMMS/work order system.
