Job summary

Southern Champion Tray seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. You will ensure safe, reliable operations with preventive and corrective maintenance and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment issues, repairing conveyors and motors, and supporting PLC-controlled systems, with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two-year college technical school, or one year related manufacturing experience.
• Must read and understand documents in English and be able to communicate clearly.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and geometry calculations.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect machinery and listen for malfunctions and performance issues.
• Diagnose equipment failures using operation manuals, schematics and input from operators.
• Install, repair and modify mechanical components such as bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and rotating equipment.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical power and control systems including transformers, wiring, motors, drives and sensors.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled and automated equipment through diagnostics and component replacement.
• Use test equipment like multimeters, amp probes, megohm meters and oscilloscopes.
• Lay out and maintain piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems including valves and gauges.
• Fabricate or modify parts and structures using machine tools and welding equipment.
• Perform conduit installation, circuit routing and electrical terminations when skilled.
