Job summary

Cooper Standard's Spartanburg, SC manufacturing plant is seeking a Maintenance Technician to safely repair and troubleshoot equipment, including installation, preventive and routine maintenance, and decommissioning as needed.

The role involves hands-on work across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, assisting contractors, and ensuring 6S and OSHA compliance, with a focus on safety and reliable operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two year college degree or technical training preferred.
• Two+ years industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
• Electrical and hydraulic experience required; read prints.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on involvement and direction to contractors to complete projects.
• Performs maintenance across Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pipe Fitting, Carpentry, Plumbing, Welding & Fabrication, Sheet Metal, Machining, Rigging, Erection, HVAC, Refrigeration.
• Takes a proactive approach to safety in all work activities.
• Assists in startup/shutdown of facilities as needed.
• Maintains parts, materials, service ordering, and records; keeps maintenance manuals organized.
• Maintains shop and maintenance inventory and ensures tools are in good operable condition.
• Ensures calibration requirements for process control instruments are met.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, ANSI, EPA, NFPA, OCWD and TS16949: 2002 Standards.
