Job summary

Minth Tawas Manufacturing in East Tawas, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth operation of facilities and equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks. Safety and OSHA compliance are emphasized to minimize downtime and maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, installation, and diligent documentation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or an associate degree in industrial maintenance preferred.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with industrial machinery or in a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of electrical control panels, PLCs, machine vision systems, motors, and fluid power systems; familiarity with Fanuc, Kuka, ABB robots and injection molding machines is a plus.

Responsibilities

Preventive maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and inspect equipment regularly to catch issues early.
Diagnostics & troubleshooting using manuals, multimeters, and software to locate root causes of failures.
Repairs & overhauls: Dismantle, replace parts, reassemble, and calibrate equipment to spec.
Installation: Set up and test new tools, conveyors, or production equipment on the floor.
Documentation: Log repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance schedules in tracking systems; Excel is a plus.
