Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Columbia, SC, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance on manufacturing equipment, plumbing, electrical, and facility systems. The role runs Monday to Friday, 9:30am–6:00pm, with variations communicated at hire.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the following certifications: Specialized fabrication, Welding, Electrical repair and installation, Plumbing, Certificate or Degree in Industrial Maintenance.
• Three years of previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent with course work in skilled crafts or trades training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper equipment upkeep, maintenance, and breakdown troubleshooting to meet production requirements and building needs.
• Coordinate with supervisors and managers on breakdown repair of equipment and upgrading of existing equipment for final approval.
• Prioritize and schedule for specific equipment repairs.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance program.
• Monitoring hazardous waste for removal and maintenance of chemical storage area.
• Address safety issues and lock out tag out program; electrical safety and safe work practices.
