Job summary

WestRock is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, test, and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Welding and machining are a plus. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, PLC experience, and a focus on safety.

Expect to work off-shift in a unionized manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment malfunctions, performing preventive maintenance, training staff, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.
• High precision with tight tolerances.
• Ability to climb overhead structures and work in tight spaces.
• Highly safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
• Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment per safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Advises operators and line mechanics on safe operation with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Notifies management and line mechanics of potential problems and dangers.
• Maintains maintenance records for identified equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance as directed.
• Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
• Assists and trains other maintenance/technical staff.
• Makes other duties as required.
