Job summary

Rivian is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician I to support plant operations in Normal, IL. You will work on state-of-the-art equipment and receive on-the-job training and mentorship from Journeymen technicians.

This role offers opportunities across electrical, mechanical, and machining tasks, with hands-on experience, safety training, and a chance to contribute to the growing Electric Vehicle industry.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required, technical focus in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics.
• Know electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools.
• Industrial Maintenance Experience preferred.
• PLC programming experience preferred.
• Ability to sit/stand/walk 8-12 hours per day.
• Ability to climb steps and ladders to access equipment.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 70 lbs.
• Manual dexterity to grasp and manipulate materials, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Complete on-the-job training, for career development
• Perform crisis and preventative maintenance
• Identify and source parts, supplies and repair items as necessary
• May set up and operate a lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
• May perform welding tasks
• Comply with 5S and housekeeping standards
• Drive and participate in Continuous Improvement
• Use CMMS and predictive maintenance
• Work in teams and follow safety policies and guidelines
