Job summary

Power Labor Staffing is seeking an Equipment Support Technician (Mechanical / Electrical) to support automated material handling systems at Rivian Automotive in Normal, Illinois. The role requires hands-on maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting within a cutting-edge manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, automation, or manufacturing experience and can work independently or on a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial maintenance, electrical or mechanical systems.
• Experience with automation or robotics is a plus.
• Ability to read basic mechanical or electrical drawings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of automated material handling equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Inspect motors, sensors, controllers, charging equipment, control panels, and related components.
• Identify equipment abnormalities and report maintenance issues.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Replace or adjust components under the direction of the technical team.
• Support equipment testing, startup, and production ramp-up activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and customer personnel.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and spare parts inventory.
• Perform additional equipment support duties as assigned.

Equipment Support Technician (Mechanical / Electrical)

Location: Normal, IL
Start Date: Immediate Start
Duration: Long-term opportunity (up to 2 years)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts). Occasional shift work may be required as the project evolves.

Power Labor is seeking mechanically and electrically inclined technicians to support automated material handling systems at Rivian Automotive in Normal, Illinois. Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school, trade school, military technical training, or relevant college coursework is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read basic mechanical or electrical drawings is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
