Job summary

Alsco Uniforms is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Roanoke, VA to install, repair and maintain large industrial textile processing equipment and facility systems. The role requires electrical troubleshooting, boiler and hydraulics knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints.

You will report to the Chief Engineer and work with other plant personnel. The ideal candidate has at least two years of maintenance experience, PLC programming skills, and proficiency with power tools.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency preferred.
• Some locations may require relevant certifications, a boiler license or PLC programming.
• Proficient in the proper use of power and hand tools.
• Minimum two years maintenance experience with machinery, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, boiler applications.
• Good verbal and written English, able to follow directions and manage time.
• Team player with initiative and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs and maintains industrial processing equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoots electrical issues.
• Responds to daily maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
• Provides emergency repairs of production equipment.
• Diagnoses problems and replaces parts; tests and tunes equipment.
• Looks for opportunities to improve maintenance processes.
• Maintains records of maintenance performed.
• Works safely and cooperatively with plant staff.
