Job summary

Opal Foods Cooperative Inc is hiring a Maintenance Technician for its Hampton, IA egg processing plant. This full-time role performs preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery to keep production running and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. You will assist the Maintenance Lead, diagnose problems, replace parts, and use hand tools and meters as needed. This position requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, organization, and willingness to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Willing to work off schedule shifts and/or days when necessary.
• Prior experience troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairing industrial processing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed plant business plan and KPI’s.
• Keep equipment running and operational during processing hours.
• Perform preventive and urgent maintenance of general production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to downtime.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties.
• Detect faulty operations, report those and any unusual situations to supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
