Job summary

Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Technician at our Hampton, IA egg processing plant. This full-time role focuses on preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery while ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.

You will also assist the Maintenance Lead with other projects as needed. The position requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work off schedule

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude to diagnose and repair machinery.
• Organized and detail oriented for preventive maintenance tasks.
• Willing to work off schedule shifts when necessary.
• Prior experience maintaining industrial processing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed plant business plan and KPI’s.
• Keep equipment running and operational during processing hours.
• Perform preventive and urgent maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust equipment.
• Report unusual situations to supervision and collaborate on root cause analyses.
• Use hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment safely.
• Follow safety rules and maintain clean work areas.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Procedures and SQF basics.
