Job summary

PepsiCo in Indianapolis is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and install production equipment and perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer specs. You will inspect systems, diagnose issues, and perform repairs, with weekend/holiday work possible.

Must have own hand tools and work around heat, noise, gas, and chemicals. Responsibilities include preventing downtime, upgrading lines with new tech, and coordinating with contractors while following GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and pass a technical assessment addressing maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with mechanical systems (gears, chains, motors, seals, bearings) and reading manuals.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and reading mechanical drawings.
• Own hand tools are required for the role.
• Ability to work safely near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals; family with GMP standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Repair production equipment as needed.
• Diagnose malfunctions and implement repairs.
• Upgrade production lines with new equipment or technology.
• Coordinate with outside contractors on assigned lines.
• Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards.
• Document work schedules and tasks completed.
