Job summary

American Phoenix Inc. in Topeka, KS, seeks an entry-level Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and routine maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.

You will work with experienced technicians, develop hands-on skills in electrical, mechanical, and facility maintenance, and grow into a full Electro-Mechanical Technician role. The role includes safety training and PPE adherence.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of maintenance or mechanical experience OR technical/vocational training.
• Basic understanding of: mechanical systems; electrical components; pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Willingness to learn industrial electrical systems and automated equipment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Assist senior technicians with troubleshooting and repairs of machinery.
• Support facility and building maintenance activities.
• Help maintain spare parts and maintenance supply inventory.
• Communicate equipment issues with plant personnel and maintenance leadership.
• Assist with installation of new machinery and equipment.
• Operate basic metalworking tools and equipment for fabrication and repair.
• Follow all OSHA, safety, LOTO and HazCom requirements.
• Assist with safety equipment inspections and documentation.
• Work with contractors under supervision as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
