Job summary

STS Technical Services in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support industrial machinery, production equipment and facility maintenance operations. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five to seven years of hands-on electronic and mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules.
• Ability to read operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to interpret procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
• Strong practical problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagram‑based and schedule‑based instructions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot machinery and equipment to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
• Repair defective machinery and equipment
• Dismantle equipment and install new or repaired parts
• Install and repair electrical apparatus including transformers and wiring
• Repair electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
• Lay out, assemble, install and maintain piping systems
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related components
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities
• Help ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed
• Assist with training production employees on proper maintenance procedures
• Support lockout‑tagout training and procedures
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal components
• Repair and maintain facility structures
• Initiate purchase requests for required parts and machines
• Perform additional duties as assigned
