Job summary

FCA Packaging in Clayton, OH is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and improve production equipment and facility systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and prevent downtime while following safety procedures in a hands-on role.

The position requires experience with hydraulics, basic electrical systems, and the safe use of shop tools. Overtime may be required to restore critical machinery and support production.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical systems.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and written instructions.
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Bilingual is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving motors, bearings, belts, chains, conveyors, and other machine components.
• Work with hydraulic systems and troubleshoot hydraulic components and equipment.
• Apply basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and identify electrical issues.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
• Build, assemble, modify, and install equipment, fixtures, structures, and other projects as needed.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and work to return machines to operation safely and efficiently.
• Assist with machine installations, modifications, improvements, and repairs.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety, and repair needs.
• Perform general building and facility upkeep, including repairs and improvements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area and work environment.
• Maintain appropriate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to management.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Assist production employees and perform production duties when maintenance work is not required.
• Work overtime as needed, particularly during equipment breakdowns or when extended repairs are necessary to return critical machinery to operation
• Perform other duties as assigned
