Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair complex industrial equipment across plant facilities. Responsibilities include repairing mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while driving uptime and reducing downtime with a sense of urgency.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience, a technical degree or equivalent, and a willingness to work any shift with overtime.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC systems and industrial equipment.
• Ability to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Own basic tools; PCA will provide specialized tools and an annual tool allowance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, rebuild, replace mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on plant equipment and facilities.
• Use maintenance knowledge to increase productivity, decrease downtime and waste.
• Work with a sense of urgency to respond to machine downtime events.
• Complete in-house training programs to develop equipment specific maintenance skills; occasional external training with overnight travel may be required.
• Follow all safety and company policies, including lock-out tag-out procedures.
