Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Albion, MI seeks a Maintenance Technician to safely support corrugated sheet feeder production. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, align and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment to improve reliability and uptime.

The role requires reading blueprints and diagrams, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with operations to set priorities. Shift options include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• One or more years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or military setting.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulics & pneumatics.
• Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, & mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and specs.
• Experience with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors, rollers, pulleys and shafts.
• Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, align, and maintain industrial mechanical and electrical equipment to improve reliability and uptime.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to unplanned equipment issues with urgency.
• Troubleshoot motors, drives, electrical controls, PLC/HMI hardware, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and production equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, schematics, manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to identify priorities and solve complex equipment problems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including labor hours and critical preventive-maintenance findings.
• Follow all plant safety and environmental procedures, including required PPE.
• Perform the physical requirements of the role and work in hot, cold, humid, dusty, and noisy industrial conditions.
• Work any assigned shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
