Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Albion, MI corrugated sheet feeder plant. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain industrial mechanical and electrical equipment to improve uptime and reliability.

The role requires experience in hydraulics and pneumatics, reading electrical/mechanical drawings, and performing preventive maintenance. You may work on motors, drives, PLC/HMI hardware, and conveyors, with overtime, holidays, and weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or military environment; OR a 2-year electrical controls degree with 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulics & pneumatics.
• Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, & mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and precision measurements.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors, rollers, pulleys, and shafts.
• Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, align, and maintain industrial mechanical and electrical equipment to improve reliability and uptime.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to unplanned equipment issues.
• Troubleshoot motors, drives, electrical controls, PLC/HMI hardware, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and production equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, schematics, manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
• Partner with operations and maintenance team members to identify priorities and solve complex equipment problems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including labor hours and critical preventive-maintenance findings.
• Follow all plant safety and environmental procedures, including required PPE.
• Perform the physical requirements of the role and work in hot, cold, humid, dusty, and noisy industrial conditions.
• Work any assigned shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
