Job summary

Crown Battery is seeking a General Maintenance Technician (GMT) for 2nd shift in Fremont, OH. The role focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance of plant equipment, with emphasis on troubleshooting, equipment improvements and supporting shutdown/start-up activities.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, general maintenance knowledge, and familiarity with 480V 3-phase systems and PLC controls. Ability to work unsupervised and lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Minimum high school diploma.
• General maintenance knowledge.
• General knowledge of 480-volt 3ph. Electricity.
• General understanding of PLC controls, logic, and programming.
• Familiarity with company, facility, departments, equipment, procedures, and set-ups.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and basic maintenance, adjustments, set-ups and repairs on all production and facility equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• May work irregular hours and weekends as production and maintenance needs dictate.
• May assist with other jobs as required by Maintenance Supervision.
• Assist with plant shutdowns and start-ups.
• Responsible for parts and material requisition.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor in planning and decision-making process.
• Identify and report product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
• Support implementation of corrective/preventative and improvement actions.
