Job summary

Worthington Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine and emergency maintenance on machinery in a manufacturing setting at our Elgen facility in Closter, NJ. The role focuses on proactive issue identification, resolving mechanical problems, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently to minimize downtime.

The 2nd shift runs Monday to Friday from 2 PM to 10:30 PM. Pay is $30 to $35 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to preventive maintenance, repairs,

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills for industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and machinery repair best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance scheduling and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues quickly to minimize downtime.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and machinery.
• Manage parts and inventory for repairs and replacements.
• Document maintenance activities and generate regular reports for management.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams for process improvements.
• Provide emergency maintenance support during off-hours as needed.
