Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform general and preventative maintenance on production, processing, and packaging equipment at our Grand Rapids facility.

You will read schematics, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and support installation of new equipment. This role requires 2–4 years of related experience, a high school diploma or technical training, and the ability to work with minimal supervision on 2nd or 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school or technical training in electrical/mechanical fields preferred.
• 2–4 years of maintenance, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, PLC, and HVAC or related experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Certification and/or license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and/or repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related utility systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections for reliability and performance.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
• Support installation of new equipment.
• Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders timely with high quality standards.
• Use hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment.
• Document repairs and required information clearly and accurately.
• Maintain GMP and safety compliance; stay up to date on products and techniques.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and anticipate parts needs.
