Job summary

AJM Packaging Corporation, located in Detroit, MI, is seeking mechanically inclined individuals for full-time shifts (3:30 PM–11:30 PM and 11:30 PM–7:00 AM) to join a rapidly expanding, recession-proof industry.

You will troubleshoot production machinery, perform setup/startup/stop tasks, inspect product quality, and carry out preventive maintenance with safety as a priority. Training on the job offers routes for advancement.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: able to train on the job and advance within the company.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred; factory/manufacturing experience a plus.
• Technical certifications (Electrical, HVAC, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics) are a plus.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to troubleshoot and adjust machines.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot production machinery and identify sources of problems.
• Assess machines and replace defective parts, clear jams, and adjust as needed.
• Set up and start up/stop production machines after interruptions.
• Check finished product quality after downtime to ensure proper function.
• Lubricate and clean machinery parts and perform preventive maintenance.
• Adjust machine components and control instruments as required.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and complete other duties as required by supervisor.
