Job description

This role's responsibility is to maintain, troubleshoot, and make vital repairs to ensure the efficiency, performance, and reliability of the Cool Whip/Lunchables systems and equipment, in accordance with Kraft Heinz policies and procedures. The goal is to provide the highest quality and delivery to our customers. The successful candidate will work on both mechanical and electrical systems, including up to 480V, PLC ladder logic, controls integrations, as well as traditional mechanical systems such as cams, drives, belts, and sheaves.

Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Perform maintenance duties with minimal supervision, including supervising the line to observe defects, planning repairs prior to failure, and fixing mechanical or electrical failures.
2. Adhere to GMP policies and maintain records related to equipment performance, repairs, and downtime via PMs, SAP work requests, and PC-based systems.
3. Coordinate with the Supervisor regarding product changeovers and other critical information to ensure quality and efficiency.
4. Recognize and document unusual conditions or defective equipment using SAP protocols.
5. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas to meet sanitation standards.
6. Follow all safety rules, policies, and precautions to ensure safety of self and others.
7. Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in developing procedures and corrective actions.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Mechanical Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Repairing, rebuilding, and operating mechanical systems.
• Reading and understanding machine prints, drawings, and sketches.
• Welding skills, including acetylene, plasma cutting, Heliarc, and stick welding.
• Performing routine machining and parts fabrication or repair.
• Knowledge of PLC operation, motor control circuitry, and sequence of operation.
• Proficiency with relevant tools and instruments.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail, training ability, time management, and basic PC skills.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years' experience in industrial maintenance.
• Must pass mechanical and electrical skills testing.
• Ability to perform and train others in mechanical repairs, system maintenance, and new technologies.
• Good communication, leadership, and planning skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
• Lift up to 50 pounds independently; heavier weights with assistance.
• Ability to give and understand instructions in a manufacturing environment.
• Manual dexterity for operating and disassembling equipment, and using a computer.
