We are looking to hire a maintenance technician to join our team on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of maintenance experience in plastic injection molding. Located in Providence, RI, Mars 2000 provides world-class engineering solutions for commodity and engineered products across multiple industries. The successful candidate will have experience troubleshooting pneumatic injection molding presses, hydraulic equipment, and various electrical and electronic problems, as well as general upkeep of the physical plant. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver, solution-oriented, and highly mechanically inclined. Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work with little or no supervision, and capable of interacting with outside vendors and technicians to resolve problems promptly.

Responsibilities include:

1. Ensure all safety interlocks are functioning properly and safely
2. Maintain molding machines and auxiliary equipment (training available)
3. Dismantle machines or equipment to examine defects and make repairs
4. Replace defective parts with new or fabricated reproductions
5. Assemble and test machines to verify repairs
6. Clean press barrels and screws
7. Understand and implement the “Lock-out/Tag-out” program
8. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of all functions of injection molding machines (training available)
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical diagrams
• Ability to keep accurate records
• Licensed to operate a forklift or willingness to learn
