Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment in an industrial manufacturing setting. The role focuses on troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, including PLCs and conveyors, to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

The position involves supporting equipment overhauls, new installations, parts management, and updating maintenance records.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial plant maintenance experience, including electrical repairs, conveyor maintenance, and mechanical maintenance.
• Hands-on experience as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician in a manufacturing facility.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
• Experience performing electrical repairs, including work on equipment that may be controlled by PLCs.
• Ability to perform mechanical adjustments and repairs on production machinery and conveyors.
• Experience applying GMP in daily maintenance activities.
• Experience with failure analysis to identify root causes of equipment failures.
• Ability to manage and execute preventative and corrective maintenance work orders in a structured maintenance system.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with planners, parts coordinators, and other team members regarding work status and priorities.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Use GMP in the execution of all daily work activities to support safe and compliant operations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
• Perform corrective maintenance on assets, ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues to support continuous operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, including PLC-controlled equipment and conveyors.
• Conduct mechanical adjustments and repairs to restore equipment to proper operating condition.
• Overhaul existing equipment as needed to improve performance, reliability, and safety.
• Participate in new equipment installations, including mechanical and electrical setup, testing, and commissioning.
• Generate parts requests and follow all required MRO procedures to help ensure adequate inventory levels.
• Monitor the daily work order load in the maintenance queue and execute assigned preventative and corrective work orders according to the established schedule.
• Create follow-up notifications for any additional corrective work identified during inspections or repairs to ensure issues are fully resolved.
• Communicate with the planner and parts coordinator when material availability issues arise or when parts are needed to complete work orders.
• Provide clear verbal communication on high-priority maintenance items that may place operations or equipment at risk, ensuring timely escalation and response.
• Apply failure analysis techniques to identify root causes of equipment issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
