Job summary

Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc is seeking a Maintenance Tech to support plant and facilities maintenance at our Buford, GA location. You will engage with the company computer system and participate in preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliable operations.

Responsibilities include equipment repair, safety promotion, adherence to schedules, operator training, rapid response to breakdowns, coordination of outside services, and parts procurement to keep systems running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably steel processing.
• Knowledge of coil processing equipment (cut-to-length & slitters).
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements regarding equipment.
• Proficient with PLCs, electrical, mechanical, air, hydraulics & blueprints.
• Preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plant equipment daily, including processing and material handling equipment, overhead cranes, and building repairs.
• Promote and demonstrate a safe work environment.
• Comply with maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programs.
• Train and supervise operators on daily maintenance tasks for equipment.
• Respond to unscheduled breakdowns with urgency to reduce downtime.
• Coordinate outside maintenance services as required.
• Order parts to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• All other duties as assigned or as needed.
