Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support a high-volume food manufacturing and packaging operation in Illinois. The role requires hands-on work with automated packaging equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, motors, pumps, refrigeration, and related plant machinery to keep production running safely and efficiently.

You will diagnose and repair equipment, read schematics, work with PLC ladder logic, perform preventative maintenance, and document repairs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with automated packaging or processing equipment is a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime and varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical production equipment.
• Diagnose electrical systems and replace failed components.
• Read electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and equipment drawings.
• Troubleshoot PLC‑controlled equipment and ladder logic.
• Service motors, pumps, refrigeration equipment, heaters, coolers, and related systems.
• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Troubleshoot packaging and processing machinery.
• Fabricate, assemble, repair, and test machine components as needed.
• Assist with equipment installation and relocation.
• Use hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other maintenance equipment.
• Document repairs and equipment conditions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
