Job summary
Republic Services in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair recycling equipment, hydraulic systems, conveyors and compactors. The role includes preventive maintenance, PLC troubleshooting, and coordinating with operations staff for efficient downtime reduction.
Ideal candidates have 3+ years in manufacturing/distribution maintenance, Tier 4 emission system knowledge, welding skills, and a valid driver’s license with a mechanical or trade school
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of building maintenance, HVAC, odor and negative pressure systems.
- Minimum 3 years of equipment maintenance in manufacturing or distribution.
- Experience with Tier 4 emission systems.
- Welding and/or fabrication skills.
- PLC programming experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Mechanical or trade school certificate.
- Certificate in electronic diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs on recycling equipment.
- Maintains hydraulic systems, conveyors, balers, and compactors.
- Performs preventive maintenance per schedule and documents field service.
- Communicates with supervisors and operators to clarify issues.
- Reads, troubleshoots and programs simple PLC instructions for monitoring.
