Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to operate onsite in Minden, LA. The role focuses on maintaining mechanical systems, troubleshooting electrical up to 480V, and supporting PLC-related tasks in a high-hazard environment.

You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, read drawings, and collaborate with production and engineering to keep equipment reliable and safe while meeting stringent safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 7+ years of direct experience in industrial maintenance.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills including rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic and production machinery.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, starters, VFDs, and ability to run conduit and wiring.
• Basic understanding of PLCs and control systems, including ability to assist with troubleshooting, Input/Output checks, and work with external controls support.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
• Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or in a team within a fast-paced, high-hazard manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems including rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, and production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, starters, VFDs, and field wiring.
• Support basic controls and PLC troubleshooting with guidance, including I/O checks and coordinating with external controls resources.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Install, align, and commission new equipment and components with proper mechanical integrity.
• Maintain and repair facility utilities and infrastructure (air, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, building systems).
• Follow safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out, material-handling protocols, and PPE requirements in a high-hazard environment.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to troubleshoot issues in real time, including working on equipment during active operations.
