Job summary

Avery Dennison is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for 1st shift (6 AM - 2:30 PM) at our Mount Prospect, IL facility. You will perform planned, predictive, and emergency repairs on mechanical and electrical manufacturing systems to ensure uptime and reliability.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years in multi-craft maintenance or a trade/associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, with hands-on experience in 3-phase power, PLCs, motor control, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-craft (electrical & mechanical) industrial maintenance experience or a Trade School Certification/Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with 3-phase power, PLC systems, relay logic, motor controls, electrical conduit installation, and testing devices.
• Mechanical repair, pneumatics, basic plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and general facility maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic ability, schematics reading, computer literacy, and effective communication; willingness to cross-train.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery including 3-phase electrical controls, PLCs, DC drives, motors, pneumatics, and conveyors.
• Execute predictive and preventive maintenance schedules, calibrate equipment, inspect circuits and wiring for safety and efficiency.
• Partner with engineers and production teams to optimize machinery, reduce downtime and mitigate safety risks.
• Maintain repair logs, order parts, ensure OSHA compliance, and keep a clean, safe shop environment.
